HISTORY

The ACFQ (Association des conseils en francisation du Québec) was formed on April 27, 1977 to bring together those responsible for francization programs in various organizations and companies, to cater to their need to share information, experiences and problems, and to provide them with a voice on francization.Since its creation the Association has evolved, attracting many from various fields more or less closely involving linguistic management. In order to reflect this evolution and to better respond to members' needs, the association name was changed at a special assembly on April 30, 1986 and became the Association des conseils en gestion linguistique (ACGL) Inc. This new focus will allow for expansion into areas as varied as management of linguistic services, francization programs, communications language training, and exchanges in the fields of business, education and government.
Today the Association is the ideal forum for Linguistic Services Managers of Quebec and of many other provinces.
